News release ISSP 14th World Congress – Seville 2017
Seville exceeded the ISSP monitoring visit prior to the World Congress of Sport Psychology 2017

In the last few days, the ISSP (International Society of Sport Psychology) visited Seville to supervise the facilities and the progress on the subject of science and institutions of the World Congress of Sport Psychology in Seville 2017, taking place from 10th to 14th July next year. Seville highly exceeded the ISSP evaluation. It will continue preparing all the details for the meeting which will bring more than 1000 assistants from 50 different countries and the leading international figures from the world of sport psychology.
Alejandro Garcia Mas, Secretary-General of the ISSP and one of the world greatest authorities on the subject, visited the Andalusian capital leading the ISSP retinue to supervise and support the local organization of the Congress in the final months of its preparation and design. Besides, Joaquin Diaz, president of the Spanish Federation of Sport Psychology (FEPD), also visited Seville together with Alejandro Garcia Mas and the members of the local committee, headed by Jose Carlos Jaenes, Congress president. “The ISSP is very satisfied with the work completed in Seville so far. We are sure that we will have a very prestigious international Congress. Everything goes very well.” the Secretary-General of the ISSP said.
Seville will be the world center of Sport Psychology thanks to the communications, the posters, the keynote speakers, the speeches and the discussions, leading into having a great scientific relevance.
The World Congress of Sport Psychology is supported by the Spanish Federation of Sport Psychology (FEPD), the Regional Department of Tourism and Sport of the Council of Andalusia, and the Provincial Council and the City Council of Seville.
It will take place from 10th to 14th July 2017, at the University of Seville and it will be supported by the Pablo de Olavide University. The event, which takes place in Spain for the second time ever, will host more than 1000 members of Congress from all over the world to discuss issues of interest to Sport psychologists, Sport professionals, trainers, referees, executives and athletes.
