Save the Dream is a global non-profit movement of organisations, people and athletes who believe in the power of sport to build more fair and inclusive societies and are therefore committed to promote and protect its core values for the good of youth and future generations.
Save the Dream implements and promotes activities to empower youth through safe access to sport and to its educational and social values. Save the Dream was established in 2012 as a programme by the International Centre for Sport Security (ICSS), in partnership with the Qatar Olympic Committee and Ooredoo, technology partner.
As this 14th Congress of the ISSP focus on issues which are our “raison d’être”, such as multicultural bridges, gender and social equality, Save the Dream is contributing to the Congress with a dedicated Symposium entitled “RUNWAY TO SAVE YOUR DREAM” (Thursday, 13 July 2017, 14:30 – 16:00).
The Save the Dream Symposium will offer ISSP World Congress participants a chance to meet theory and practice. This will be an opportunity to take part in an open debate with outstanding athletes who have been in contact with sport psychology through their sporting career or who are sport psychologists.
The Director of the Symposium is Josefa IDEM, an Olympic Kayak Champion who has participated in 8 Olympic Games from 1984 to 2012. Other speakers are: Honey Thaljieh, Corporate Communications Manager at FIFA and co-founder of women’s football in Palestine; Alhambra Nievas, the first woman to be chosen as the best rugby referee in the world in 2016; and Arturo Casado, an Olympic runner and European Champion in 1500 meters 2010. The debate will be moderated by Pedro Velázquez: Director Social Innovation and Empowerment, Save the Dream.
